For this guide, TDI has classified medical services based on the type of doctor or the location where the service is provided. This guide includes medical procedures for the following six medical categories:

Appendectomy - Remove appendix
Coronary Bypass w/PTCA w/o Cardiac Catheterization - Open blocked coronary arteries without a tube being inserted into the heart
C-Section - Operation to deliver a baby
Hip Replacement - Replace hip joint with artificial hip joint
Hysterectomy (Radical) - Remove uterus, cervix, and part of the vagina
Inguinal Hernia Repair, Bilateral - Repair weakness in abdominal wall causing tissue to bulge out of both sides of the lower abdomen
Inguinal Hernia Repair, Unilateral - Repair weakness in abdominal wall causing tissue to bulge out of one side of the lower abdomen
Knee Replacement - Replace damaged parts of the knee joint with artificial parts
Laminectomy - Remove the back of one or more vertebrae
Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy - Remove gallbladder
Vaginal Delivery w/o CC - Childbirth through the vagina with no complications
ACL Repair - Repair the anterior cruciate ligament in the knee
Adenoidectomy - Remove adenoid
Appendectomy - Remove appendix
Bunionectomy - Operation to treat bunions
Cardiac Catheterization (Left) - Insert a tube into the left side of the heart
Cardiac Catheterization (Right + Left) - Insert a tube into the left and right sides of the heart
Cardiac Catheterization (Right) - Insert a tube into the right side of the heart
Colonoscopy - Check intestines for colon cancer
Inguinal Hernia Repair, Bilateral - Repair weakness in abdominal wall causing tissue to bulge out of both sides of the lower abdomen
Inguinal Hernia Repair, Unilateral - Repair weakness in abdominal wall causing tissue to bulge out of one side of the lower abdomen
Laminectomy - Remove the back of one or more vertebrae
Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy - Remove gallbladder
PTCA (Perc Cardiovasc Proc w/Drug-Eluting Stent w/o MCC) - Open blocked coronary arteries using a stent that releases a drug to keep the blockage from coming back without complications
Rotator Cuff Repair - Repair torn tendon in the shoulder
Tonsillectomy - Remove tonsils
Tonsillectomy & Adenoidectomy - Remove tonsils and adenoid
Tympanostomy - Insert small tubes in eardrum(s)
Upper and Lower GI Endoscopy - Look inside the digestive system
Upper GI Endoscopy - Look inside the upper digestive system
